I found a transcript of an interview that the New York Times conducted with John McCain in July. It is interesting to read McCain being called on his contradictions and gaffes about what kind of conservative he viewed himself as, as opposed to what his record actually had been. He opined that he'd rather let children languish in orphanages rather than be adopted by gays or lesbians.

The most intriguing bits of the interview were:
- his comments on "the bridge to nowhere" as being indicative of the recent betrayal of conservative fiscal values (d'oh!);
- his avowed respect for Barack Obama (whom he couldn't give the courtesy of eye contact during last week's debate);
- his tap-dancing on whether a government bailout of financial institutions was imminent or needed;
- and his utter Ludditism when it comes to modern technology.
How can anyone whore himself out this much in just 12 weeks? If this is what he is willing to do to merely campaign for President, then whom would he pimp if elected--himself, or us?
